Mathematician among new MacArthur Fellows

Maria Chudnovsky, a mathematician at Columbia University specializing in graph theory, has received a 2012 MacArthur Fellowship. This is an extremely prestigious award consisting of “five-year, unrestricted fellowships to individuals across all ages and fields who show exceptional merit and promise of continued creative work.” She is most famous for being one of the authors of a proof of the strong perfect graph theorem.
